Thirty years of professional experience (Nine years administrative experience) in education, counseling, rehabilitation and mental health programs. Program Design and implementation, creation of agency policy and procedures to form compliance with Local, State and Federal regulations. Interface with regulatory entities, quality assurance of appropriate service delivery, lead for agency during programmatic audits and service delivery reviews. Most of this work was provided in agencies which were multi cultural, racial and lingual, serving diverse populations including native born, immigrants, refugees, and persons living in exile.

COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION
Hayden Island Livability Project (HILP): Organized community members, arranged for special training event to educate community members about Environmental Justice Issues and Laws (in conjunction with the Willamette University Law School Sustainability Clinic) which evolved into HILP. HILP organized a concerted effort to protest cost cutting revisions to the Columbia River Crossings Project, gathered over 500 signatures (“Save Our Safeway”) and also organized protest and testimony at the Project Sponsors Council meeting which stopped approval of the revised project and sparked the change of opinion by local government, including specific provisions in communication with the governors office that issues on Hayden Island shall be satisfied if the CRC project is to move forward. 11/2009 - Present
Hayden Island Plan Steering Committee: Co-Chair of city sponsored advisory group formed to develop a master plan for Hayden Island, a neighborhood in the City of Portland Oregon. Duties included advising planning department on choice of planner and consultant for project, assuring that all facets of the very diverse community stakeholders had equitable access and input to the process. 6/2007 - 12/2009
Candidate for Portland City Commission, seat #2: Launched a “Grass Roots” all volunteer campaign in a special election to replace Commissioner Eric Sten, assessed community issues, formulated “message”, developed volunteers and campaign strategies, participated in numerous candidate forums and other public speaking events, wrote extensive policy position articles, became friends with Nick Fish and Amanda Fritz, as well as numerous other community leaders. Received approximately 7,000 votes. 1/2008 – 5/2008
Columbia River Crossings, Community Environmental Justice Group: Member of community based Environmental Justice Group advising design and construction of interstate bridge construction project between Portland Oregon and Vancouver Washington. 7/2006 - Present
Vista Street Watch, City of West Hollywood: Co-founder of neighborhood crime watch on street adjoining major regional park on the east side of the City of West Hollywood, CA after two murders occurred in the neighborhood. Organized “National Night Out” events, and other activities which significantly reduced crime in the neighborhood. 1994 – 2005
City of West Hollywood, Redevelopment Project Area Committee: Member of (and Secretary of) community based advisory group regarding redevelopment projects within a targeted area (East Side) of the city of West Hollywood. 1997 – 2005
